Soil Association Grassland and Clover Management Event
23rd September 2010

The technical session in the morning will include presentations from David Younie & Gavin Hill, SAC, topics covered include grassland productivity, utilization & optimum stocking rates, choice of grass & clover species, establishment, nutrient management & weed control. The event will also include a visit to Ellands Farm, beef and arable unit courtesy of Mr Will Downie, to discuss how these principles can be put into practice.

A session in the morning will look at understanding how renewables work; installing and funding for renewables; what is available; generating returns from renewables. Speakers include Maitland Mackie, Ian Cowe, Forestry Commission, Simon Munro, Logan Project Management David Ross, SAC. The day will also include looking at and discussing Glensaugh’s 50Kw wind turbine and bio mass boiler.
